Yasmine/Yaz Porath is an installation artist based in NYC, with a diverse background in photography, murals, and custom design work. A 2024 graduate of Smith College with a BA in Studio Art, Yasmine specializes in installation art with a focus on sustainability, using repurposed materials, found objects, trash, and biomaterials such as SCOBY and bioplastic.
Shaped by a childhood of constant moving, Yasmine is passionate about building community through artistic creation. Their installations often explore the transformative potential of spaces, using light, bright colors, and reflective surfaces to cultivate play and introspection. Yasmine's earlier work in photography ignited a deep fascination with light, which continues to influence their current practice. Their art invites interaction, questioning ownership in art and encouraging viewers to engage directly with the environment. Whether through installations, photography, murals, or fashion, Yasmine’s work celebrates creativity, sustainability, and the transformative power of community.
